Kayleigh Thornton

Midwife

Kayleigh has been a midwife for 4 years and has spent most of that time working in inpatient services at a high risk maternity unit in Manchester and a rural unit in North Devon delivering continuity of care in both the community and hospital. Kayleigh completed her midwifery elective in Zambia, and before midwifery worked, volunteered and travelled throughout East and Southern Africa, though Uganda has always been her favourite country.

In her spare time Kayleigh likes to climb, hike, attempt to surf and drink coffee. She is currently helping with K4C's wound project at Buhinga Hospital as well as assisting in improving maternity services at a local community health centre with a great team of Ugandan midwives. She is very excited to be back in Uganda and loving working with local midwives and families, learning new skills and exploring.
