Volunteer Requirements

We welcome professional volunteers from a variety of backgrounds including nursing, midwifery, medicine, allied health professions, biomedical engineering, social work and others. Volunteers are required to have a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, along with a minimum of 1 full year of practice experience (post-qualification). We expect all volunteers to be highly motivated and to have excellent teamwork and communication skills. Volunteers must also have a keen interest in global health, sustainable development, health systems strengthening and capacity building.

Placements can be any duration from a minimum of 2 weeks, however the length of placement may affect the costs incurred by the volunteer and any financial support we are able to provide. Most of our funded opportunities require a commitment of 6+ months. Find out more about the support we provide

All volunteers will be asked to complete a pre-placement health and wellbeing questionnaire to enable us to provide additional support where necessary. We may also ask for evidence of qualifications, professional memberships/registrations, a recent CRB check and a valid driving licence (if required).

As an ethical organisation, we actively encourage applications from professionals of any gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age or disability.
