Allied Health Professionals

K4C has hosted several physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, prosthetics and orthotics volunteers since 2012. To date most of their roles have been paediatric focused, however we are planning to expand our activities to include adult care throughout 2021. Volunteers have covered both hospital and community based care settings, as well as supporting our partner organisations working in these areas. Their activities have included working alongside local staff to share knowledge, skills and techniques; running community sensitisation programmes focusing on disability and mental health; researching the care needs of vulnerable and/or disabled communities; designing interventions to improve access to education for disabled children and working clinically to diagnose and treat patients.

Our AHP placements tend to be relatively structured in order to meet defined project or partner needs as they arise. Some roles will include research activities, particularly those funded by a specific research project. We welcome applications from early career through to senior AHP staff.
