What do we offer?

We welcome students from any study discipline and level of study including nursing, midwifery, medicine, the allied health professions, social work, teaching, biochemistry and microbiology. We endeavour to provide a stimulating, meaningful and effective placement experience which suits students’ needs and interests as well as supporting our projects and partner organisations. Placement locations include ward and operating theatres in large urban hospitals and small rural health centres; community outreach programmes focusing on mental health, children's health and women's empowerment; prisons, juvenile centres and refugee settlements; schools for disabled children and children's development centres. Where possible, students can experience multiple placement locations, however this depends on the placement duration and the needs of our partners at the time. Placements can be any duration from a minimum of 2 weeks.

K4C is the only international placement provider that offers bespoke, high quality supervision by British healthcare professionals as well as experienced local Ugandan and Tanzanian staff. This means some placements can be accredited as part of University degree programmes, including the signing off of skills, competencies and placement hours. Wherever possible, we are happy to negotiate this with your University. If you are unsure if this might apply to your University course, just ask!
