What Support and Supervision will be available if I need it?

If you can find an organisation that provides a higher level of support and supervision to students, we would like to know! No matter where you are based, our teams of local clinical staff and British professional volunteers are on hand whenever they are needed. In fact, it is a requirement that any students engaging in hands-on patient care or working with vulnerable adults or children must do so under the professional supervision we provide (this is part of our ethical commitment to protect both you and the people you are working with!). As our professional volunteers are registered practitioners in both the UK and Uganda/Tanzania, they are able to sign off exposures, competencies, experiences and placement hours if required by your University.

Our friendly and experienced placement managers and administrators are also available to help and advise where needed. Free Wi-Fi will be available at your accommodation and we can help you get your own 4G sim-card for when you’re out and about, so wherever you are, you can easily stay in touch with friends and family back at home too.
